What is involved?

Occupational Therapy is a client orientated professional focussed on helping clients identify activities that they find meaningful and helping them participate in said activities. These activities can include taking care of one’s self, working, participating in hobbies or sport and even engaging in casual social events.

The activities that Occupational Therapists (OTs) can help with are many. The process of figuring out what activities’ clients wish to have fulfilled involves assessments to understand any current limitations and any goals that clients have.

Why OT?

OTs are able to offer advice and techniques to help clients more easily and safely complete their activities. Likewise, they are able to prescribe devices that will give aid to complete the activities clients need and want to do. OTs will also teach clients how to use the prescribed devices so that they also know how to best meet their own needs.
